This day and a half long course, sponsored by Safe Kids Grand Forks and the Altru Family YMCA, will provide both classroom education and in-water training on how to work with special needs individuals in an aquatic environment.

Who qualifies for registration?
Certified Water Safety Instructors, lifeguard or other persons who frequently work with special needs individuals (i.e. physical therapists, paraprofessionals, etc.). The course DOES NOT certify attendees as a lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor. It only provides guidance for working with special needs children in an aquatic setting.

How to apply for the course?
Applications can be found online at www.safekidsgf.com (under the “classes” tab). Or click here to download your application.

The class has a $20 registration fee to attend. Please note the application deadline. There are a limited number of spots available in the training and those selected to participate will be notified no less than 2 weeks prior to the class date. The registration check/fee will be returned if applicants are not selected.
