Visiting Santa might be overwhelming for some kids, but some families got to experience a quieter side of St. Nick.
At the Anne Carlsen Center in Grand Forks on Saturday, kids who have sensory difficulties had a chance to warm up to Santa in a calm environment. They start in a sensory room playing with toys until they are ready to see the big man in red.
“It gives the boys an opportunity to come in and see Santa kind of one on one. A set time for each family and just kind of let them explore at their own leisure instead of being in a lot of crowds and lines and different things,” CeeCee Long said.
Families got to take home pictures and a gift bag.
