From the Jamestown Sun
Everyone in the community is invited to the “9-11 Freedom Walk” observance at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The observance will start from Zonta Park and end at the All Vets Club with free coffee and bars.
This year’s event is being co-sponsored by the Anne Carlsen Center and the Jamestown Patriotic Council. There will be two speakers from Annie’s House in Bottineau. Anne Nelson, originally from Stanley, N.D., died in the collapse of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. On her “bucket list,” which was recovered from her computer, was her desire to own a home in North Dakota. That led to the establishment of an adaptive recreational facility for individuals and veterans with disabilities. The Anne Carlsen Center, New York Says Thank You Foundation and the Bottineau Winter Park Association have worked together to make Nelson’s wish come true.
